Statement to voters

Gez has been a Derbyshire County Councillor since 2021 and a Borough Councillor since 2023. Gez joined the Green Party to address unfairness and environmental injustices and to bring about the fundamental changes necessary address these issues.    Most of Gez's working life has been in the housing sector - managing change, transforming services and delivering effective performance management, focusing on outcome for tenants. Using these skills, Gez has held councils to account, and improved services for residents.   His successes include:   -         Shining a light on injustices, such as campaigning against local care home closures -         Delivering Derbyshire's first  School Street -         Campaigning not just for better roads, but championing safe cycling, walking and wheeling and promoting local 'active travel plans' to achieve this -         Installing dropped kerbs and campaigning against pavement parking. Gez is passionate about improving access for people with disabilities -         Suggesting improvements to and highlighting the weaknesses of the councils' net zero plans.
