She has diligently served the community for many years and understands its needs through her casework as a local councillor and supporting an MP. Sharmen has been a carer, a governor of both Sparkenhoe and Madani Schools and worked in policy to advocate for the marginalised.  Sharmen lives in Leicester South with her husband and children.
