Statement to voters

I have lived at the centre of Richmond and Northallerton constituency, in Colburn, for all of my adult life. I worked here and I brought up my family here. I rely on the same local services as the residents who elected me to represent them as their councillor. I know and understand this area and the people who live in it. People say they vote for me because I get things done. I have a proven track record as a councillor, representing my community at every level of local government from Parish Council to County Council. I lead the Green Group at North Yorkshire Council and I stood as the Green Candidate for mayor of York and North Yorkshire. I am proud to have been chosen by the council leader to be North Yorkshire Council's Armed Forces champion. I want to do the best I can to improve things for the people around me and across the country. I believe that I have the experience, commitment and personal qualities needed to represent my home area at Westminster. I want to help build a fairer, greener country for us all.
