Statement to voters

This constituency is my home, and I know that the people here deserve better than our current Tory MP. My Labour values have been embedded in me since a Labour government welcomed my family into this country and provided it with opportunities to grow and prosper. It was Labour's welfare state and provision of social security that supported my struggling family. I fight for working people everyday at UNISON, and I will continue to fight for a fairer society with the same passion in Parliament. With my energy, experience, and local roots we can turn Harborough, Oadby and Wigston Labour. Let's get Britain's future back, together.
