Statement to voters
Kate Hollern was selected as the Prospective Parliamentary candidate for Blackburn at a meeting of all Party members on 30 March 2014. Kate was first elected as the Labour MP to represent Blackburn in May 2015 and was re-elected in June 2017 and December 2019. She has called Lancashire home for over 40 years and has a political career spanning 20 years. Before entering parliament Kate was the Leader of the Labour Group on Blackburn & Darwen Borough Council and leader of the Council from 2004-2007 and 2010 until 2015. Kate has played an important political leadership role at both a regional & national level and is honoured to be able to represent Blackburn residents in parliament. On re-selection for the next election, Kate said "It is an Honour to represent Blackburn in Parliament - I made the town my home over 40 years ago and I brought my daughters up here. I undertake regular surgeries across town and my team are available to help residents throughout the year".
