Statement to voters

Duncan has lived in Portsmouth for over 15 years and cares deeply about the city. He said: "One of my major concerns is a personal one, the threat of air pollution.  My youngest son was blue-lighted to A&E four times before his second birthday with breathing problems exacerbated by air pollution."  To combat this, Duncan would widen the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) in line with residents wishes, expand and streamline the bus routes, as well as create dedicated cycle lanes. A knock-on effect would likely also make it easier for those who have to drive because there'd be less traffic and more parking spaces. Duncan would also support the installation of insulation in all private and public housing across the city to reduce energy bills and pollution, protect green spaces for us all to enjoy, and increase facilities for young people across the city.  He said: "If elected, I will work hard to improve these areas, making a Portsmouth for the future that we (and our children) can be proud of."
