Statement to voters

Why I'm running to be Basingstoke's first Labour MP After fourteen years of Conservative failure, political chaos and underachievement nationally on the economy and public services, and two decades of Maria Miller locally, it’s time for change. Basingstoke is a fantastic town, and the UK a brilliant country, and Labour is ambitious for the future, but right now we’re being held back by a local MP who can’t deliver on her promises and a Government which has run out of ideas, is dominated by internal division, and is running out of road. It doesn’t have to be this way. I will work so that Basingstoke, and everyone who lives here, is able to fulfil their full potential. Labour will restore Britain’s pride and purpose and move on from the division and chaos of the Tory years.
