Statement to voters

Fionna grew up in Victoria Park and now lives in the centre of Arbury with her own young family. After graduating from the University of York, Fionna spent eighteen months working in financial services. She then moved to Southern Mexico to work on a project strengthening community tourism in deprived rural areas. At the conclusion of the project, Fionna moved to Denver, Colorado to work for President Obama's re-election campaign as a Field Organiser. Fionna returned to the UK at the end of 2012 and took a position as Campaign Advisor to Julian Huppert, Member of Parliament for Cambridge. In September 2013 she began working in Parliament for Martin Horwood MP. Since 2015 she has worked as a policy adviser, first in Foreign Affairs and now, since the EU referendum, in Foreign Affairs and Brexit. She now works as a global public health advocate and also wants to give back to the community she grew up in and where she is raising her children. Fionna is particularly passionate about the future of Arbury Court - and protecting playgrounds and parks in our area. Fionna says, “We need real change for Arbury. For too long Labour have been taking North Cambridge for granted. As a local Arbury resident, I will listen to you and ensure our area’s voice is heard on the City Council.”
