Statement to voters
I am Patrick Spencer, the Conservative Party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich. I live in Suffolk with my wife Anna and two sons. My happiest childhood memories were spent on the Aldeburgh seafront, playing at Ufford Park, or watching Ipswich play at Portman Road. Suffolk is indeed a wonderful place to live, and as the MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich I want to work to keep it that way. That means working with Government to deliver more funding for our local NHS services, supporting both our Police and Crime Commissioner and Suffolk Constabulary to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, and arguing for a fairer funding deal for schools in Suffolk so that our young people get the best start in life possible. I want to make sure residents are supported and protected from the effects of severe flooding, and make sure their voice is heard when they object to unnecessary developments that blight our beautiful countryside. And I want to champion businesses across the constituency, large and small, so that we continue to create jobs and economic opportunity here in Suffolk. Outside of politics I am a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Social Justice, a Trustee of the Jobs Foundation and a Governor at my local Primary School. Before that I was a Senior Adviser at the Department for Education and a Director at a family-run Private Equity and Venture Capital firm in London.
