Statement to voters

The Green Party candidate for Leeds NW constituency in the forthcoming General Election is Mick Bradley. Mick has lived in the constituency for 12 years with his wife and teenage son.  He worked for Citizens Advice Bureau including setting up a new centre in Balham, South London dealing with housing, welfare benefits and debt. Then was a primary teacher and later trained teachers in global education including human rights, sustainable development and global citizenship. He most enjoys being in nature and has completed all the 282 Munro hills in Scotland and Wainwright's in the Lake District. Mick has been an Otley Town Councillor for over 9 years. As an active councillor, he has been fully engaged with making Otley a better place to live by getting a flood study carried out after the serious 2015 flooding leading to the present flood alleviation scheme. Mick started the annual Family Cycling Day which allows young children to cycle an off road course away from traffic and having secured funding is leading work in particular, with local schools, to encourage active travel around town. He is a founder member and trustee of Otley 2030, which seeks a carbon neutral and fair town in the 2030's.
