Statement to voters

Hello, I'm Julia Long and I'm the Party of Women candidate for Bexhill and Battle. I live in Bexhill and my background spans working as a teacher, academic and researcher as well as working in local government and the charity sector. Much of my work has involved supporting survivors of domestic violence. I have also taken unpaid leave to care for my elderly father and am acutely aware of the need for a properly funded, well-resourced social care system. Party of Women is a new party set up to defend women's rights and to safeguard children in the face of an ongoing onslaught against both. Our unorthodox 'manifesto' is less a manifesto, more a statement of facts: There is no such thing as a woman with a penis; there is no such thing as a man with a vagina; non-binary does not exist; and 'transitioning' children is profound abuse. We are unafraid to use clear, accurate language in the defence of women and girls' right to single-sex spaces, services and sports, and in ensuring that children are not taught untruths with potentially devastating consequences. Ultimately, this is a question of reality versus fiction, and on an issue where so many politicians have lied, waffled or stayed silent, we dare to be honest.
