Statement to voters
Chris is a family man who loves the great outdoors and sport. Chris likens his varied life to that of Forest Gump having worked in Farming, Building, Drug rehab and Care sectors as well as 17 years working a professional Oil-field Geologist in Europe, Asia and Africa. Chris's overseas cultural experience and love of history (he has 4 degrees) have lead him to appreciate the influence of the Christian Faith in shaping the positives in Western culture. Chris see's this Faith as the key factor in changing Europe from tribes with a territorial warring and blaming culture towards Nations where Democratic values and Human rights would prevail. Chris believes this Judeo-Christian foundation explains the unique, open and self-critical outlook of Westerners culture. Thus, Chris believes, this history should thus be promoted in British education to improve the understanding of the British identity. He believes this will reverse the decline in today's society seen in issues like...crime, personal security, absence of quality jobs, housing shortages, poor economic performance, abuse of environment, and a lack of national identity and self worth. Contrary to popular belief Chris believes Britain has mighty things to be proud of in it's history, from being the first Empire in history to abolish slavery (check it out!), to the first lead nation to award its people a democratic vote. All of this would have been impossible without leaders in Society like William Wilberforce (Abolition of slavery) , Richard Oastler (working conditions) and Robert Raikes (founder of Primary Schhol education) and Lord Shaftesbury. All of these campaigned for the weakest one's in socuety when they had no vote. Hero's that changed Britain for the better and need promoting in today's schools. God bless
