Statement to voters

Rebecca is standing in the KCC 2025 elections because she believes that Gravesend has been badly let down by 15 years of austerity from the previous and current Governments, and that people in the Gravesend East area need a local, committed voice at County Council level. Like many local residents, Rebecca is frustrated by local Government inaction on issues such as anti-social behaviour, cuts to local services, and transport. Rebecca has an active interest in local conservation and maintenance; she is a Gravesham Street Champion and regularly organizes litter picks in the local area. She has campaigned for more action from the local council on prevention and management of fly-tipping and littering. She has also been campaigning to reinstate the cancelled Gravesend-Tilbury Ferry, and feels that local Government could be doing more to investigate solutions to the traffic congestion, dangerous roads, and pollution levels in Gravesend. Rebecca joined the Green Party because she cares deeply about the her community and the environment, and wants to make change for the better. Originally born in Farnham, Rebecca has lived in the Gravesham area since 2015. She works as a scientific writer and technical communications consultant. Rebecca is a Green Party candidate for Gravesend East at the Kent County Council 2025 elections.
