Statement to voters

Dear neighbour, My name is Ali, I’m standing in the upcoming Council elections as an independent because our community needs someone who gets things done. My background is in project delivery, working on infrastructure and construction projects where results matter. I’ve managed budgets, coordinated teams, solved problems on the ground, and seen projects through from start to finish. That means I’m used to dealing with real issues, not passing them on. That’s exactly how I’ll approach this role. When something needs fixing, whether it’s a local safety concern, ongoing maintenance issue, or a problem affecting residents’ day to day, I won’t wait around. I’ll be visible, involved, and focused on practical solutions that make a difference. I care about protecting the quality of life in our area: safe streets, well-maintained public spaces, and a community people are proud to live in. But that only happens when someone is willing to take responsibility and follow things through properly. I will: • Be present in the community and easy to reach • Act quickly on local issues and see them through • Work directly with residents, officers, and services to fix problems • Focus on outcomes, not excuses This isn’t about politics for me, it’s about putting in the work, being accountable, and delivering real improvements. If you want a councillor who is hands-on, responsive, and committed to getting things done, I’m ready to step up. Please lend ONE of your two votes to me, a true local Independent resident, whose first and only priority is you - my neighbours. I will see you around, lets have a chat. Ali
