Statement to voters

I am not a professional politician. I am a best-selling author and prize-winning journalist. I was in despair at the way politics was going and decided to do something about it. I've been the candidate here for nearly three years, working hard on local and national issues. I have the character and vision to be a highly effective opposition MP. I don't give up and I get results. I was deported from the Soviet Union, arrested, beaten up, interrogated and spied on by communist secret police agents behind the Iron Curtain. I studied economics at the London School of Economics and speak many foreign languages, including German, Russian, Polish, Czech and Lithuanian.
