Statement to voters

I am delighted to be representing my home town as the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate. I was born and educated here and thought I have lived in other cities I have always come back home. We have a large Labour membership in Chelmsford and I am looking forward to working alongside all the talented people we have to run a radical campaign against austerity and all the Tory cuts. I never thought I’d see in a town as wealthy as Chelmsford such things as foodbanks and yet here we are with not just one, but several. I have also been out working with one of the charities helping to feed and clothe the homeless and the stories I hear are heartbreaking. As a society we should be taking care of people in hard times not stepping over them. As Parliamentary Candidate between now and the election I will be out and about talking to as many of you as possible and listening to your concerns and will continue to do everything in my power to make Chelmsford the best home it can be for all of us.
