Statement to voters

I grew up on the Swinnow and in Wortley and raised a family of my own in Farsley. Later, I moved to Bradford for work and founded a software business that grew to employ 250 people worldwide. I'm semi-retired now but still live part-time in Shipley where until recently I was a Town Councillor. I believe that Westminster is broken. Government and opposition are equally ineffective, both divided by political infighting. They have no time for the issues affecting the regions, no time for Yorkshire, no time for Leeds West and Pudsey. Yorkshire deserves the right to take powers back from Westminster and make decisions closer to home. To decide our own priorities for funding transport infrastructure, to make our own initiatives to improve our environment. Yorkshire deserves better.
