Statement to voters
Phil is 62 and work in sales. Originally from Underwood though he has lived in Long Eaton and California before moving to Amber Valley in 2012. Phil served as a Councillor in Erewash before spending four years in the US where he set up a successful heritage railway. Before moving to Amber Valley, Phil helped bring about the re-opening of Ilkeston station working with local authorities and other agencies, to cut through the red tape and get things done. Phil promises to work for all of Alfreton and Somercotes with the same determination and dedication. Now living in Riddings, Phil has for 9 years have been an active and successful campaigner for Brexit, first to bring about the referendum and subsequently to make sure we regained full independence from the EU. Phil is pleased that most people in our area agree that our future is outside the EU and over the next few years I aim to ensure there is no ‘backsliding’ and we take full advantage of our new-found sovereignty and freedom to prepare Derbyshire as a whole and all of Amber Valley for new opportunities for well-being, a better quality of life and prosperity for all. Phil says: "I offer 100% commitment and the following priorities: Bring extra resources to our local communities Develop a plan to revitalise our retail centres, bring in investment and jobs Make sure our roads are free of potholes and fit for purpose Ensure our care sector is properly resourced Provide well-funded high-quality schools and opportunities for our young people Protect and enhance our green spaces, our quality of life and the welfare of other animals I will honour and preserve our shared heritage while bringing sustainable and appropriate development to enhance our towns and villages, protect our green spaces and improve our transport infrastructure. If you want to discuss policies et. please don’t hesitate to contact me."
