Statement to voters

Stephen Robinson has a track record as a hard-working Chelmsford campaigner and Councillor. His career has been in communications in the not-for-profit / charity sector. On Chelmsford City Council, Stephen leads the Liberal Democrats and the Council, where they are working to deliver a greener, fairer and better connected Chelmsford. Stephen and the Lib Dem team # have declared a climate and ecology emergency and put in place a climate action plan, including planting 17,000 trees a year # purchased housing for homeless families and put in place plans to build more # will ensure that the Local Plan forces developers to invest in local transport, schools, NHS and other services with new housing # are chasing Conservative-run Essex County Council to invest more in roads and pavement maintenance, not cut the investment budget by £20 million over the next two years. On Chelmsford Council since 2011, Stephen has led the fight against Conservative plans to cram development into the wrong places without investment in public services. We need housing that is affordable and sustainable, and well paid local jobs.
