Statement to voters

I am the only local candidate in this election and I'm fed up with party politicians taking Coventry for granted. Both the Conservatives and Labour have demonstrated their contempt for local people in this election. Neither of their candidates have ever lived in Coventry. ​As somebody who has lived here all my life, I have had enough with self-serving politicians using us as a stepping stool to climb the greasy pole. Coventry deserves better. We need an MP committed to the city, not their career. As a former reservist in the Royal Navy, I know what it means to serve the public. Political parties are at their most reckless when they have large majorities, because it allows them to ignore voters. This is true of both the Conservative Government and the local Labour Council. I believe Coventry North West needs an MP who is unafraid of standing up to both, and who has one loyalty: to you. After decades of taking this city for granted, Geoffrey Robinson can't win again. A Conservative-majority Government is inevitable and that means we all need an energetic MP who can defend our public services from Conservative cuts nationally and Labour cuts locally. We don't need one of May's minions who will vote through the Dementia Tax, raise your taxes and support more cuts to our hospital and public services. I am the only candidate who will champion Coventry and not be a mouthpiece for party bosses in London. As the only candidate who relies on our local public services for my own family, this is personal to me. I'll fight to make Brexit work for the people and families of Coventry, so that your needs are heard in Westminster and not sidelined for party political advantage. Coventry is the greatest city in the UK. It is diverse, young, skilled and entrepreneurial, and it needs a local MP who can truly represent it. You deserve an MP with integrity and independence, fighting in your corner.
