My Background Having lived and worked in the East End for most of my life, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities our community faces. Born at the Royal London, and educated at Harry Gosling Primary School and Raines Foundation Secondary School. Fluent in English, Bangla, Sylheti, and Arabic; conversant in Urdu, Hindi, and Gujarati. A barrister with an MBA from Cranfield University. My Experience With a diverse and extensive career dedicated to justice and community service, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role. 27 years as a Barrister: Advocating for justice in private practice, central government, and local government. Youth Worker: Committed to fighting discrimination and poverty. Member of the Lawrence Legal Team: Challenging institutional racism during the Lawrence Inquiry. Health Advisor: Six years advising the Department of Health and serving as a non-executive director of an NHS Trust.
