Statement to voters

Sheridan is a former software engineer turned ecological economist, who has lived in Islington since 2020. She works on developing policy and education programmes to show how we can build a different kind of economy that actually works for people and planet. “People all over Islington are seeing their council tax bills and business rates rise at an alarming rate, and yet services are being cut all over the place,” Sheridan said. “So much of the blame lies with the Labour government refusing to restore critical funding. We’ll work with Green councillors all over London to expose this dereliction of duty and insist the government step up to do what’s needed.” She’s also running to help change how decisions are made in Tufnell Park, to ensure residents have a stronger say on issues affecting their lives, with a focus on participatory budgeting and collective decision-making. “We’ll work to ensure that people aren’t just having things done to them — we’ve been knocking on doors for years now, and will keep doing that so everyone knows their opinion and contributions are truly needed and valued.”
